Nothing celebrates the Fourth of July like hearing the Dark Lord of the Sith recite: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed, by their Creator, with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.
According to SFgate.com, James Earl Jones — the iconic actor who voiced Darth Vader — will recite the U.S. Declaration of Independence at the opening ceremony for the “Magna Carta: Foundation of Freedom” exhibit at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia on July 3.
“Here’s an opportunity to focus on the declaration itself — besides the holiday, besides the great explosions and bombs bursting in air,” Jones said in an interview that aired Sunday on ABC’s “This Week.”
The exhibit, presented by the National Education Association and sponsored by Verizon Communications, will run from July 4 to July 25. The Magna Carta is on loan from Great Britain’s Lincoln Cathedral.
